In the running for longest open pizza restaurant in Calgary, if not all of Alberta, Atlas Pizza & Sports Bar was started in 1975 by Mike Theodossopoulos. Mike’s son Chris came on board in 1995 and hasn’t looked back.
“I love the job and atmosphere that comes with it. The people are great and the environment is welcoming and fun,” Chris says. “I started at the bottom and worked my way up: washing dishes first. Then I would cook in the mornings, go to university in the afternoon, and then come back to cook at night. On the weekends I would learn bartending and serving. From there I just continued working, even after studying history in university.”
I haven’t had Atlas Pizza in a few years since I left Calgary. Let’s just say I wasn’t disappointed when I tried it Tonight. Still the best pizza in Calgary in my opinion. Don’t believe me give it a try.
Nick.
I ordered pizza for delivery tonite and got it 1hr and 45mins later!!! Called at 1 hr mark and was told it was on its way...quote unquote. When pizza finally got here outside crust was cold. Called to talk to manager, put on hold and then hung up on. They have good pizza but will NEVER call them again. Customer service should be a priority in todays day and age. Extremely dissatisfied disappointed and angry
